Science Curriculum

Science employs a hands on, inquiry based approach that begins with observation and exploration at the early grades and evolves into more teacher directed and student designed experiments and activities at the upper grades. Students are exposed to a wide variety of subjects in the three major scientific areas, which are earth science, life science and physical science. Throughout these areas, topics include:

• common properties, forms and changes in energy and matter;
• the characteristics and structure of living things, the processes of life, and how living things interact with each other and their environment; and
• the processes and interactions of the earth's systems and the structure and dynamics of earth and objects in space.
