Admissions Process

Montclair Academy, an independent day school for students in early kindergarten through grade eight, fosters the development of individuals who are intellectually vibrant, socially responsible and ethically aware. Montclair Academy seeks to admit students who will prosper in its program; therefore only students whom we believe can succeed academically and socially will be accepted for enrollment. Siblings, children of alumni and children of faculty receive preference provided they meet the academic and behavioral standards of the Academy, as well as satisfy the Academy's objective of attaining a diverse student population.

Application Process and Checklist:

• Please fill out an Application for Admission (click here)
• Complete and return the Application for Admission with a check for the non-refundable application fee of $75 to:

• Contact the Front Office to arrange for a school tour. The telephone number is: (303) 366-7588.
• For applicants for early kindergarten through grade four, give the Teacher Recommendation Form to the applicant's present teacher with the request that it be completed and returned to the Academy. For applicants for grades five through eight, give the Mathematics Teacher Recommendation Form and the English Teacher Recommendation Form to the applicant's present teachers with the request that it be completed and returned to the Academy.*
• For applications to grades one through eight, deliver a Transcript Request Form to the appropriate personnel at your child’s present school with the request that his/her records be forwarded to Montclair.*
• After the paperwork is completed, contact the Front Office to arrange for your child’s classroom visit to Montclair.
• Please note: Applicants for grades five through eight will be asked to complete a written essay and other evaluative work during the school visit.

* We strongly recommend that you accompany all requests to schools/teachers with postage-paid envelopes pre-addressed to:
